Christian Northern Nigeria Political Awareness Forum (CNNPF) Pass Vote of Confidence on President Tinubu, Shettima Presidency.
The Christian Northern Nigeria Political Awareness Forum (CNNPF), has Passed a Vote of Confidence on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sen. Shettima’s Presidency.
The Christian Northern Nigeria Political Awareness Forum (CNNPF), made the disclosure at a world press conference, held at Abuja at the weekend.
The Forum said the boldness and political will to transform Nigeria, therefore pass a vote of confidence on the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
Addressing the Press, Hon. Ibrahim Itodo, said The Christian Northern Nigeria Political Awareness Forum (CNNPF) is an initiative established to foster unity among Northern Christians.
“Our mandate is to sensitize, educate, and mobilize Christians to actively participate in the political process by joining political parties and contributing meaningfully to the electoral system”.
“In line with our vision of building a political environment devoid of rancour, religion, ethnicity, and sectionalism, we made a strategic decision to support the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections. This decision was influenced by the conviction of our grand patrons, Rt. Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji and Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, who emphasized patriotism, capacity, competence, and character as the key requirements for leadership”.
“On this basis, CNNPF openly endorsed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shettima ticket in the 2023 Presidential Elections”.
While acknowledging the Challenges and Progress made by the administration thus far, CNNPF said:
“We are not oblivious of the current economic challenges witnessed in the early stages of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. However, despite these unavoidable difficulties, the bold steps taken by the President are yielding visible dividends”.
The CNNPF listed the
key Achievements of the Tinubu Administration to include but not limited to;
1. Economic and Institutional Reforms
Since assuming office on 29th May 2023, President Tinubu has initiated bold and far-reaching reforms aimed at:
Repositioning the nation’s economic landscape.
Strengthening national institutions.
Restoring confidence in governance.
2. Competence and Reformative Courage
The administration has demonstrated exceptional competence and political will, taking decisive actions to tackle deep-seated issues such as:
Economic stagnation.
Security challenges.
Weak infrastructure.
Healthcare inadequacies.
Leadership inertia.
3. Security Enhancement
Strengthened inter-agency cooperation.
Deployment of advanced technology in security operations.
Boosting the morale of security forces.
Initiation of the Nigeria–Israel Bilateral Security Partnership, a welcome development by CNNPF.
4. Education Reforms
Introduction of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide affordable student loans.
Establishment of a non-repayable Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) grant, with a monthly stipend of ₦45,000, to revive technical education and skill development.
5. Tax and Revenue Reforms
Ongoing strategic tax reforms aimed at broadening the revenue base.
Promotion of compliance through technology-driven platforms.
These efforts are funding infrastructure upgrades and poverty reduction programs.
Suspension of the 5% Telecom Excise Tax, providing relief to millions of Nigerians and stimulating digital growth.
6. Bottom-Up Governance Approach
President Tinubu’s leadership style is focused on the poorest of the poor. Notably, his administration:
Approved local government autonomy, empowering the third tier of government.
This reflects a commitment to grassroots development and inclusivity.
7. Clarification on One-Party State Perception
The inclusive governance style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not be misinterpreted as an attempt to establish a one-party system. Instead:
Opposition parties are encouraged to collaborate with the administration.
Constructive engagement will strengthen the economy and bring relief to Nigerians.
The CNNPF concluded by saying:
“The CNNPF urges all stakeholders to desist from divisive rhetoric around the Muslim–Muslim ticket. We call on political actors to exercise patience and allow the party hierarchy to take decisions that are acceptable to all members.
We also advise party members to avoid unnecessary controversy and respect the internal policies and processes of the party”.
