OMALA FLASH FLOOD DAMAGE: KOSEMA CONDUCTS ON-THE-SPOT ASSESSMENT

In continuation of the proactive mornitoring of impacts of flash flood in the State, Kogi State Emergency Management Agency team led by the Executive Secretary, Alh Mouktar Atimah, conducted on-the-spot assessment to ascertain the magnitude of flood impacts on affected populations, and immediate needs of the victims.

The assessment visit, which was conducted in Bagana and Olla Communities in Omala Local Government Area also witnessed presence of relevant stakeholders which included Omala LGA Chairman, Security personnel and memebers of host communities.

According to the Executive Secretary KOSEMA, we are directed by the workaholic Chief Servant of the State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, to come and sympathize with the victims and assess the level of damage caused by the flood disaster.

Atimah stated that having assessed the destruction on houses and farm crops as huge loss that worth millions of naira, assuring government’s interventions in providing immediate relief materials to the affected victims, aiming to alleviate their hardships and restore their hope for a better living. He further urged the community members to support Kogi State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, stressing that his government is committed in safe-guarding, and enhancing the social well-being of the citizens.

In his remarks, the Omala LGA Chairman, Hon Maik Ediboh, lauded the assessment visit, commended State Government for its swift and prompt response, appealing for government’s quick interventions, and promised enhanced collaboration.
