The Ohimegye Igu Kingdom HRM Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu has called on Nigerian’s to make safety a top priority on the highway.
The Traditional Ruler gave the admonition when he received in audience Hon. Suberu Yusuf John (PhD), Senior Special Assistant on Road Safety Matters to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo who paid him a courtesy visit.
The Ohimegye Igu described accident on the nation’s highway as avoidable if motorist ensure all the necessary driving codes.
He described accident on the Lokoja Abuja highway as one too many, listed over speeding, dangerous overtaken as major causes of accident on the road.
He called on the Federal Government to carry out repairs on the road before the yulitide, pointing out that the ongoing construction of the Lokoja Abuja highway has taken too long a time for completion.
His Royal Majesty, Ohimegye Igu Koton Karfe, bestowed his blessings and pledged his needed support to the agency in ensuring safety on the Road.
