249 To Bag Distinction At 4th Kogi State Polythecnic Lokoja Combined Convocation.
249 Students would be graduating with distinctions at the 4th Combined Convocation of the Kogi State Polythecnic Lokoja.
This is as the Polythecnic says it pride’s itself as an institution committed to graduating students who are employers of labour in the country.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo, made the disclosure at a Press Briefing Marking the Commencement of Activities of the 4th Combined Ceremonies of the Polytechnic.
Dr. Ogbo disclosed that 145 students will be graduating with distinctions at the ND level while 104 with distinctions are at the HND level.
In all, the Polytechnic, Dr. Ogbo disclosed will be graduating 7653 at the ND while
4427 will be graduating at the HND level at the 4th combined convocation of the Polytechnic..
The Rector mentioned some his achievements in the Polythecnic to include the tackling of insecurity that was synonymous with the Polytechnic before his assumption of office, said under his leadership the institution has gained prominence in academic matters and quality assurance, with 30 program of the institution enjoying full accreditation.
The Polytechnic, Dr. Ogbo disclosed has established New directorates, improved the physical infrastructure in the institution as well improvement in environmental maintenance, said the institution remains committed to academic excellence.
While pointing out that his administration succeeded in blocking revenue leakages in the institution, expressed satisfaction with the increase in internally generated revenue, added that his administration has also recruited new staff in the institution.
The Polytechnic Dr. Ogbo explained has within the limit of available resources Implemented the promotion of staff from 2015-2019, started the initiative of constituting the
Alumni Association of the institution.
The Polytechnic, Dr. Ogbo mentioned has erected a Secretariat for the Student Union Government, pointing out that the result processing of the Polytechnic have been fast tracked, with the introduction of Academic Board Central Results Verification, expressed satisfaction that the institution has no result backlog.
Dr. Ogbo attributed the success of his administration to the support of Gov Yahaya Bello, described his love for the Polytechnic as unprecedented.
The 4th combined convocation is for the 2013/2014, 2014/2015
2022/2023 academic session.
