A Socio -political group in Edo, Owan Conscience, OC, has initiated a debate christened “Political Dialogue with Owan Nation,” intended to host the candidates of the three major parties, All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 21 guber election in Edo State.
The much anticipated political event will hold this Saturday, July 13, in Sabongida-Ora, the headquarters of Owan West Local Government of the state.
Speaking ahead of the political event, the Chairman of the organizing committee, who doubles as former Executive Chairman of Owan West Local Government, Barrister Richard Ofen-Imu, expressed readiness to host the candidates of the three major political parties in a question and answer session, saying all arrangements have been perfected to ensure a hitch free ceremony.
On the rationale behind the event, Ofen-Imu, a former council chairman, explained that the political event was intended to provide an interactive engagement between Owan people and the governorship candidates, noting that the occasion would offer the people the opportunity to draw the attention of the candidates to the plight of Owan people and draw commitments from them.
The political dialogue, which is billed to start by 10am, will feature Senator Monday Okpebholo of the APC, Barrister Olumide Akpata of the LP and Dr. Asue Ighodalo of the ruling PDP.
