2024 FLOOD: GOVERNOR ODODO APPOINTS ALH MOUKTAR ATIMAH AS SECRETARY, STATE DISASTER RESPONSE TEAM
In an effort to effectively manage the menace of flood based on the prevailing increase in water level in Kogi state, Kogi Government under the proactive leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has inaugurated a Member flood response team.
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Joel Salifu was appointed as the Chairman and the Executive Secretary Kogi State Emergency Management Agency, Alh Mouktar Atimah, appointed as Secretary.
According to His Excellency, the life of every kogite is precious and therefore mandated the team to prevent loss of lives and properties to the bearest minimum.
The Flood Response Team is charged to develop a robust roadmap to enhance capabilities in flood preparedness, mitigation and response. Stressing further, the Governor assured the team of his maximum support to enable them achieve the mandate given to the team.
Responding, the Executive Secretary SEMA, Alh Mouktar Atimah, thanked the Governor for believing in them and further expressed optimism on efficiency and effectiveness of the team in ensuring hitch-free flood management.
In a similar vein, the Deputy Governor His Excellency Joel Salifu, appreciated the effort of the Governor for his commitment to the people of the state and for always addressing their plight.
The Deputy Governor further promised on behalf of the team to effectively deliver on the mandate.
