An All Progressives Congress, APC Stewart and SSA to Kogi state government on youth and women mobilization, Kabba-Bunu Ijumu federal constituency, Hon Segun Olobatoke has said that the true greatness of Nigeria can only be achieved through the youthful and visionary leadership as inherent in Governor Yahaya Bello.
Olobatoke who stated this while hosting a group of media practitioners recently noted that to achieve the Nigeria of our dream,we must appreciate and project the special qualities in youthful and visionary leadership of the Kogi State governor, who has has shown capacity for uniting Nigeria and providing a plartform for development by a departure from the old order of recycling the old breed of leaders who have failed Nigeria as they are empty of ideas that can move the country forward.
He said that Nigeria and Nigerians must depart from divisive, sentimental and bitter politics which has retarded growth and development in the country.
He also pointed out that Nigeria will never be able to face the right direction if the citizens continue to hold on to the wounds of the past, tribal and religious sentiments.
Olobatoke observed that the leaders in power have tried their best but their best is not good enough for Nigeria.
He said that until Nigeria understands and realise the strength in youthfulness and begin to invest this strength in leadership, it might be difficult to get to our dream land as a country.
Our old breeds should leave the stage and give room for the new generation of energetic young men to take the centre stage in our politics. “Even the Holy Scriptures recognises the effectiveness of youthfulness in leadership when it said “The youth are the strength of a nation” so why would Nigeria despise her strength” he said.
“Serving our fathers land with love and strength and faith says a phrase of our National Anthem, where then is the strength in the old breed to serve the nation?
“The old men are meant to be resting and sleeping while the youth with clear and sharp vision be given the chance to deploy this strength into the building of a nation where peace and justice can reign”.
“As we approach 2023, we must depart from the divisive and bitter politics which has long retarded our growth and development as a nation. We need to face the future by pursuing the right politics that will build a nation where we can all be safe to achieve our collective dreams”.
“Though our past may have been characterised by many bitter experiences, but we will never be able to face the right direction if we continue to hold on to the wounds of the past. The success of any nation is determined by the kind of leadership running the affairs of that nation.
Therefore, Nigeria should promote Youthful, energetic and visionary leadership that can bring about nation building, peace, progress and equity. Our youth should rise up and champion visionary leadership devoid of ethnic bias to led us into the next phase of our existence come 2023 and the journey should start NOW!” he concluded.
