Kogi West Agenda is demanding that the Governorship of the State be zoned to the area in 2023.
In a press briefing, Mahmud Inuwa Muhammed, made the disclosure, urged Gov. Yahaya Bello to make the rotation principle cardinal.
While he pointed out that the East and Central have had shot at the Governorship, said for equity, fairness and justice, the Kogi West Senatorial District be allowed to produce the Governor in 2023.
The forum said the Kogi West Senatorial District has capable hands in the APC and in the district that can govern the State well.
Below is abridged version of the speech read at the press briefing.
Gentlemen of the press, Kogi West Agenda is a non-governmental organisation and a mouth piece of the seven local government areas of Kogi Western Senatorial district.
It represents the interest and aspirations of the people of Kogi Western Senatorial district with seven LGAs, three Federal Constituencies, eight five electoral Ward’s and with over eight hundred polling units.
The dream behind Kogi West Agenda is borne out of the desire to ensure that the senatorial district as part of Nigeria and Kogi State produce the next governor in 2023 through persuasion.
It is to be noted that since the inception of democratic rule in1999, Kogi We had not produce Governor of the state. Kogi East had it for 16years and Kogi Central is having it now for 8 years.
Also, Kogi West had been in the forefront of stabilising the polity of the state and full of potentials capable of managing the abundant opportunities affairs in the state.
Let us emulate our sister states in the North Central region and other states of other geo-political zone, where power is rotated among the three senatorial districts.
The mutual adoption of power rotation in our dear confluence State. We urge our amiable, focussed and pragmatic Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello will be unique, outstanding, novel and thus a positive reenactment of the political history and evolution of the state. His Excellency name shall be boldly written in gold. It is our collective call for a United Kogi state and bequeathing an enduring political legacy to the people of the state.
On the whole, the Kogi West Agenda is determined, firmly, genuinely and formidably behind the Nationwide Clarion call on Governor Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello to run for the presidency of federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023. We join other numerous interest groups to endorse the aspiration of our own, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello for President in 2023.
To this extent, we use this medium to solicit the support of all and sundry in the state and the nation at large for the realisation of this patriotic and progressive move.
Recall that before 2019 election when the Okun people in Kogi West paid a courtesy visit to the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello demanding for
West to produce the next Governor come 2023, interestingly the then Chief Staff, Chief Edward Onoja, now the Deputy Govenor who represented the
governor said the result of the 2019 Governor ship election will determine
zone that will produce the next governor in 2023. |
At the end of the 2019 election, the result showed clearly that Kogi West
overwhelmingly voted for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

We’re therefore making a passionate appeal Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and all Stakeholders to give necessary support for the Next goveenor to come from Kogi West as we are deeply indebted to the Governor for the various projects, completed and ongoing ones in the zone,
We make bold to say that what we are clamouring for is anchored on fairness, equity and justice which will guarantee peace and development.
We are especially happy with the successes so far recorded by our political office holders at federal, states and local government levels in terms of Youths employment, empowerment and developmental, constituency projects across the senatorial district.
However, we wish to use this medium to throw our support to the incumbent State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, (a.k.a, Dollas) who is about to finish his first term for another term if he so desire considering his achievements..
Finally, it is our desire that the principle behind “EBIGO” as which is part of the cardinal goals and objective of the NEW DIRECTION ( agenda of the present administration will come to play as we call on our
brothers and sisters in Kogi East and Central to support this unity movement.
