Late Prince Abubarkar Audu’s son, Alhaji Shuaibu Audu is to commission a motorized boreholes across the three Senatorial District of Kogi State this week.
Announcing this in Lokoja today shortly after being welcomed by a mammoth crowd along Felele road, Shuaibu Audu said the projects which was funded by the NGO he established is to assist humanity with the basic necessities of life.
He expresed sadness over the hardship faced by the people at the grass roots level noting that a lot people who lived in rural areas traveled a distance of two to three kilometers to get portable water.
He said his NGO will continue to look into other areas of human needs particularly the educational sector and empowerment schemes.
Audu expresed appreciation to various groups who trooped out to support him and ascribed the solidarity displayed as a recognition of the legacies laid by late Prince Abubarkar Audu.
He enjoined them to sustain the support to keep his ideals and memory alive emphasising that his father in his life time, has passion for infrastructural development.
On the request to contest in the next election, Audu who emphasized that it is Allah that bestow power on whom He wants, said he will continue to offer humanitarian services whether in politics or not.
Speaking on behalf of the youths groups, the President of Kogi Youths Movement, Honourable Attah, said the numbers of youths that trooped out to give Shuaibu a roussy welcome show the amount of love and respect people have for his father.
He described Shuaibu as a banker with passion to add value to the society emphasising that he has been able to sustain the good legacies of his father.
Kogi State Government Set to Launch BELLO-KEEP As Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Initiative.
The Kogi State Focal Person on Covid-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus(CARES), Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris FCA in a chat with newsmen today in lokoja, said that Kogi State Government will be kick starting an empowerment programme on MSMEs in collaboration with Bank of Industry Abuja to alleviate the effect of the Covid-19 on it’s citizens.
The initiative tagged Bello-Kogi Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (Bello-KEEP)was designed by the team to drive Result Area 3 of CARES programe in Kogi State. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in conjunction with the state GEEP will drive the programme .
Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, the Honourable Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, said the program would be targeting existing MSMEs in the state, noting that Kogi CARES has adopted the state SME and Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) platforms to deliver a real-time implementation system to ensure all round efficiency.
“The program will run a digital implementation system from registration of MSMEs through the selection process to the cash disbursement to qualified beneficiaries to ensure that most businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic recover efficiently.
“Our plan is to build a robust, transparent, real time automated database of beneficiaries to ease the entire implementation and management process up till the repayment stage”.
The selection process after successful enumeration include physical assessment, verification and white listing.
Asiwaju further noted that the captured beneficiaries will receive zero interest grants/loans depending on net worth of business to boost their businesses with the hope of returning the economy to normalcy.
In addition, the Governor Alh Yahaya Bello has approved initial engagement of 100 agents that will be deployed across the state for data capturing. The successful agents will begin training this week.

Obaseki salutes Edo people, assures of sustained devt …hails Buhari, INEC, security agencies for peaceful, credible poll

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has hailed Edo people and supporters of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for their display of immense courage and support in the face of threats, intimidation and brutalisation as he emerged victorious in Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
Obaseki defeated his closest rival, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polling a total of 307,955 votes against APC’s 223,619 votes.
The governor in his appreciation message in Benin City on Sunday hailed President Muhammadu Buhari, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and other stakeholders who participated in the conduct of the gubernatorial election for ensuring a free, peaceful and credible poll in the state.
Obaseki said: “The Great People of Edo State have spoken. They have spoken loud and clear. We thank God Almighty and give him all the glory for this victory.
“Thank you, President Muhammadu Buhari, for defending our democracy and allowing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies to perform their constitutional functions without interference.
“INEC and the security services have shown to Nigerians and the world that they are capable of conducting free and credible elections.”
The governor continued: “Words fail me in saluting our teeming supporters who displayed immense courage in the face of threats, intimidation and brutalization. The collective will of Edo people made it possible for this triumph over godfatherism.
“I am eternally grateful to my party the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and my brother governors not only for giving me the umbrella during my political storm but for the hard work which has brought me back to office.
“Our success has reinforced my belief that there is nothing we cannot achieve as a people if we pull forces together and collectively call on God for support.”
“I reiterate that working with my Deputy, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, we are committed to Making Edo Great Again. Thank you for your support,” he added.
Finally Godwin Obaseki Wins Edo Governoship Election, Commend Resilient Spirit of the people.
With the final release of the result of Ovia South West released and won by PDP the battle is all over on who wins the Edo Governoship election.
The Final result shows that the PDP pulled 307, 955 votes to defeat the APC with 223, 619.
In a broadcast as governor elect, Godwin Obaseki commended the peaceful conduct of the electorates.
He said his victory is for the people, said there resilient spirit made his victory possible.
