The Senate Committee on States and Local Government Administration of the National Assembly wish to join the Federal and State Government in sympathizing with the people on the global corona pandemic currently ravaging the world.
We wish to state that we are equally concern about the need for our citizenry to stay safe, consequently use this medium to urge that we continue to observe the stay at home order and to observe the social distancing and other hygienic rules in making sure that our country is free from the pandemic.
It is on this note that the Senate Committee on States and Local Government Administration of the National Assembly wish to announce the postponement of the Nigerian Local Government Development Summit earlier scheduled to hold on the 7th and 8th April, 2020 at the International conference Center, Abuja.
This postponement regretted but is due to the on going COVID – 19 endemic ravaging the glove and the need to stay safe.
A new date for the program will be communicated after the nation must have returned to normalcy.
We therefore use this medium to employ the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to dessiminate the information to all the LGAs and concerned anticipated participants from your State.
Finally, we solicit for prayers for our nation and urge our people to remain calm in this period of sober reflection.
